Hawzah News Agency- Several groups of Shia Muslims who had been marching to Karbala for the Arbaeen pilgrimage met with the Iraqi senior cleric, Grand Ayatollah Bashir al-Najafi, on Thursday November 24, in his house in the city of Najaf.

During the meeting the Iraqi source of emulation highlighted the importance of reviving Arbaeen pilgrimage and its rituals saying, “Ahl al-Bayt (as) strongly recommended Muslims to perform this great ritual,”

The Grand Ayatollah further added, “If one searches about the life and biography of the Ahl al-Bayt (as), it’s like he or she is trying to figure out the genuine Islamic teachings; Since Ahl al-Bayt (as) are representatives of Islam and messengers of friendship , kindness, brotherhood and peaceful coexistence,”

 Elsewhere in his remarks, the senior cleric added, “All mankind must adhere to the Ahl al-Bayt’s teachings in order to reach salvation and prosperity; Since Ahl ul-Bayt (as) are the only true ship of salvation for humanity and they serve as the guides towards Allah (swt), we pray to Allah to bless all the lovers of the Ahl al-Bayt (as) with His divine bounties,”
